If Singleness Is A Gift, What's The Retu (2003)
When it comes to singleness, Holly Virden and Michelle McKinney Hammond have been there, done that. These two amazing women don't regard the single life as a cross to bear, but rather an amazing opportunity to take advantage of all life has to offer and to discover their God-ordained purpose. While acknowledging the pitfalls singles sometimes face, they celebrate the advantages that also come with singleness and validate it as a true gift from God. Tackling topics such as lust, loneliness, discouragement, and bitterness, the authors use humor and sound biblical teaching as a point of reference. Unique features include a "Dating 101" section, a Q&A format on hot topics, and an open, honest dialogue between the two authors.

Meeting Holly for the first time is kind of like stepping into the middle of a spontaneous celebration. She's funny, vibrant, passionate and driven. She has a youthful energy that is contagious and a spark in her eye which captures audiences young and old. More importantly she's approachable and genuine- her smile and countenance unmistakably let you know that she's found the secret to joyful and successful living.
People find Holly to be candid and humorous all while delivering Biblical truths in a terminology and a fashion that people enjoy and can incorporate into their everyday lives. With her tell it like it is style, Holly has kept her finger on the pulse of women's issues and single living to be able to relate to a variety of audiences. Like prime time television, her messages are steeped in reality based living. She has an uncanny knack at hitting the mark in delivering messages which address where people really live.
She was born and raised in the Midwest melting pot of Peoria, Illinois. It was there she started as a disc jockey for a local Christian station. Her popularity as an on air announcer ignited her desire to minister to people in an unconventional manner. Her educational endeavors took her to Florida in 1990 to study Bible and Broadcast Communications. Being a Pensacola Christian College graduate Holly has the firm theological foundation that is needed to translate spiritual principles into practical wisdom.
What makes Holly unique is her vast experiences. In 1995 she made a move to the thriving metropolis of Nashville, TN. She landed her dream job the first week in one of America's most prestigious companies. She soon realized her purpose size hole was more important than the status of position or the paycheck. Giving up security and self reliance, she sacrificed a steady (& healthy) paycheck for full time ministry where she quickly became a sought after and successful publicist and road manager in the Contemporary Christian music industry. Through the years she's worked with artists such as Sierra, Bob Carlisle, Kim Hill, Greg Long, Eli, Bebo Norman, Jars of Clay, Sixpence None the Richer and the list goes on.
Holly's first project "If Singleness Is a Gift, What's The Return Policy?" was co-written with noted author and speaker Michelle McKinney Hammond. The release has garnered rave reviews from peers and readers alike. You'll find the common theme running throughout the project to be authenticity all related to relationship with our Creator. Holly candidly admits her weaknesses and ads frankly that the only plus to her strength is that she's smart enough to recognize that she can't do it all alone. It is this type of refreshing honesty that causes all who spend any amount of time in her presence to walk away invigorated.
Holly is an avid scuba diver and enjoys leisure travel, boating, sailing, skiing, hiking and spending time with friends. She makes her home in Franklin, TN where she works on the Luis Palau Nashville CityFest team.
