I guess this is the place where I'm supposed to post a professional-sounding bio, impressing you with my writing resume and dazzling you with my credentials. And that's what I had in this space - at first.
Then I got to thinking.
When you're sitting around in your pajamas all day pecking away at a keyboard, drinking tea and listening to Glenn Beck, your family doesn't care that you've won an Evangelical Press Association award, that you write three monthly columns, or that you have dozens of writing credits on your resume. My dog just wants someone to play catch. My daughter wants me to transfer money to her account, and my husband would be impressed if I just got dressed every day.
So let's do this. If you really want to read my writing resume, check out my website by clicking here. You can also visit my blog and my website.
But here are the highlights:
I'm the Christian music blogger at Beliefnet.com.
I'm the managing editor at NewChristianVoices.com, a new humor website with a focus on outside the box takes on life and faith from columnists Brad Stine, Taylor Mason, Martha Bolton, Caron Guillo and Teresa Roberts Logan.
I write a monthly slice of life column in the Christian Voice Magazine and a monthly entertainment column for the Christian Examiner newspapers and the Ozarks Christian News.
In addition to the other brilliant ideas swarming around my brain, I'm working on a dogvotional called All I Need To Know About Faith I Learned From My Dog. (What's a dogvotional? A word I made up with help from Tim Bete - or did Tim make it up? I forget. You know how brainstorming sessions go - to describe the inspirational and humorous dog stories I write that share a spiritual insight by drawing a parallel between the dog/master relationship and the man/God relationship.) I've got my writing group, The Inkspots and Coffee Grounds group, forcing me to keep writing. With any luck, I'll finish it before the next Presidential election.
Let me leave you with this one last thing. I'm an advocate for Compassion International. If you've never heard of Compassion, ask me about child sponsorship ~ the life you change may be your own.
Huh. And now the Twitter box has disappeared.

I've come up with a bit of a quirky idea for the Gospel Soundcheck blog: to share recipes from Christian music artists and other folks in the industry with the readers on my Beliefnet blog.
The idea came from GMA, when one artist told me she's a g...

Hi Joanne,
It doesn't matter whether you're Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Conservative, or Liturgical you need to be aware of what God is doing in these days through the Messianic movement. The more we understand the roots of our faith in Judaism, the more we can understand what God wants us to know to make that faith grow.
It doesn't matter whether you like rock, country, contemporary, gospel, or hip hop, you need to grow in your musical tastes, and sample the rich tapestry of Messianic Jewish music that is available today. To that end, I would like to introduce you to two amazing Messianic artists, whose musical style is very unique, and totally wonderful.
Deborah Kline-Iantorno's music springs from her Jewish and Puerto Rican roots, and her years as a night club singer. Her songs are exciting, her voice is gorgeous, and the message she brings is right on.
Straight from Jerusalem, Israel, the songs of Rivka Whitten are alive and fresh. Her music is a unique mix of Yemenite Israeli vocals along with rhythms from around the world, and a gifted group of instrumentalists.
Please come on by, and check out a couple of amazing songs that I have put on my page, then you can go to www.newfaithfavorites.com and listen to all of them.
Thanks,
Jim
