General Interests
I love to laugh, exercise, and spend time with my friends. I also love my jobs. I'm an author and a content reviewer for an inspirational publisher.
Music
I love almost everything. And what I listen to depends entirely upon what I'm doing and my mood. For instance, I listen to pounding rock and roll when I run or if I need to snap out of the doldrums. I choose easy stuff and worship music when I write, or, if I need to write a particularly emotional scene, I'll find music to match the mood.
Books
I love, love, love mystery and suspense. I love humor and chick-lit. I also like non-fiction and have a huge collection of reference books.
Movies/TV
I don't watch a lot of television. Not from any deep moral conviction, but rather a matter of time. If I do watch, it'll be something like TLC or the Discovery Channel. My movie taste is as eclectic as my music and reading tastes. My all-time favorite movie is Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant.
Published Works
Band Room Bash (2008)
Murder in the Milk Case (2008)
Finding the body of pharmacist Jim Bob Jenkins in the milk case of the grocery store is not on Trish Cunningham's grocery list. Neither is becoming a suspect in his murder. But Trish had good motive to kill Jim Bob. Besides the fact that he wasn't a nice man to begin with, he threatened her with a secret that could blow up her marriage. Things can't possibly get worse. Or can they? A second man is murdered--someone with whom Trish had a public altercation. For the second time in as many weeks, she's on the suspect list. Now she has a sheriff's office detective breathing down her neck, the possibility of life in jail hanging over her, and a murderer running amuck. So, what's a girl to do? What else? Become a sleuth and proceed with her own investigation. Collect clues from the people around her like her mother and a cast of small town characters. Trish doesn't want to believe the killer is someone she knows, despite mounting evidence to the contrary, but the trail is definitely leading to her backyard?a hometown murderer who has nothing to lose by killing anyone in the way?including Trish.

About Candice Miller Speare
I write inspirational mystery and suspense. My first book, Murder in the Milk Case, will be released in January, 2008. My second, Band Room Bash, will be released in April, 2008.

I'm also a Keep Me In Suspense host (www.keepmeinsuspense) and (www.keepmeinsuspense.blogspot.com) We promote inspirational mystery and suspense.

I became a Christian back in the era of coffee houses and long-haired musicians. . .oh, wait. We have them now. Okay, well, I came to Lord in the 70's. We were Jesus Freaks. We wore large crosses made from nails, read The Living Bible, and sang some of the very first Scripture choruses.

Things have really changed since then. A lot of good things, especially in the area of Christian fiction. The inspirational market has grown from mostly historial, romance, and allegorical fiction to a sweeping array of genres. I'm thrilled to be a part of that.

Hey, you Frederick girl, you!

I live about 30 min. from you. How cool is that!

Are you going to the Hagerstown Hometown Holiday Book Festival on 11/28? I sure hope you can make it. It'd be great, meeting another Maryland author in person!

Blessings on your week,
Loree
