Gee, where does one start on this one? Shall I go alphabetically or just start throwing it out there? I think I'll toss: Writing/creating (of course) music, film, researching something really fun and interesting. Cooking with friends and family, teaching flute, coaching writing and marketing, books, books, and more books. Did I say I like to read? :)
|
|
Classical, christian, movie sound tracks, christian rock to name a few. I do most of my writing to music so I have quite the diverse library.

Too many books, too little time! I was a book reviewer for five years so I did a lot of reading and interviewing back then. I LOVE to read! Unfortunatly I'm one of those authors that has a tough time reading fiction while writing it. So, there can be large gaps in my reading time! I love action/adventure, science fiction/fantasy (could ya guess by what I write myself?) and romance. Yes, I admit it! I love romance novels! Some great books I've read: Any thing by Ruth Axtell Morren, Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, L.B. Graham's Beyond the Summerland, Tad William's War of the Flowers, Terry Brooks Shanara Series just to name a few! There are just too many to list! I have a big TBR pile which is on my shelfari page!

|
Action/adventure,comedy, romance, and ... well ... I am a kid at heart. Pixar pics are great! Ice Age, Monsters Inc. The Incredibles. And of course Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Dragon Heart, geez, how long of a list should I make here? I could go on and on. Ben Hur though, has got to be my favorite all time movie. Who doesn't love Chuck Heston? What a great actor!

Her Prairie Knight (Prairie Brides Book Two) (2013)
Prairie Brides is a series, so you'll definitely want to read the books in order to have the most fun! Enjoy these sweet romances and getting to know the Cooke brothers along with the rest of the townsfolk of Clear Creek!
Newly released from prison, the last thing Colin Cooke expected to see in Clear Creek was an angel. But there she was, getting off the stage, and was of course everything an angel ought to be. Beautiful, of exquisite form, and with honey gold curls that bounced as she walked. Unfortunately, she walked straight into the arms of Mrs. Dunnigan. Everyone avoided the self-righteous, cantankerous woman as best they could. At least until they needed something from the mercantile, then they had no choice. She owned it! How could he get to know the exquisite creature with Mrs. Dunnigan roaming about and guarding her like some fire-breathing dragon? Perhaps with a little help from his brothers, he'd manage it. But the sort of help he got wasn't exactly the kind he had in mind.
Belle Dunnigan hadn't expected Clear Creek to be so remote. It was a far cry from Boston society and she soon learned how hard life out on the Oregon prairie could be. But it wasn't prairie life that was hard. It was living with her aunt Irene! The woman ruled with an iron fist and hated everyone. Especially the Cooke family. And unfortunately for Belle, the only decent men of the marrying kind within a hundred miles, WERE the Cookes! With spinsterhood starring her in the face, what was she to do? Even worse, she was terribly attracted to Colin Cooke, the one man her aunt hated most of all.
Will love find a way? Or will it be no match for Mrs. Dunnigan? The bane of Clear Creek!

Time Masters Book One; The Call ebook version (2012)
If you are hungry for a thick, juicy read bursting with flavor (fantasy, romance or adventure, take your pick), Geralyn Beauchamp's phenomenal Time Masters, Book 1: The Call is gourmet fare that will leave you hungry for more. Not since Diana Gabaldon have I read a novel more intricately woven with remarkable depth of character, spellbinding plot and humor and pathos that will steal your heart. For fantasy fans, romance lovers or those who just want a delicious taste of fantasy at its very best, Time Masters is, without question, a true feast for the senses. Julie Lessman, author of The Daughters of Boston and Winds of Change book series.
Time Masters is a fantastic, sweeping epic. In the year 3698, a terrible civil war is on the brink of erupting. To prevent unthinkable ruin, Dallan MacDonald must inherit the responsibility of being a Time Master - yet to earn the title he must earn the love of the nigh-otherworldly Muiraran Maiden. Stolen away as an infant and hidden in another time, she rejects the truth of her nature, and earning her love will be no small task! A race against time to prevent the destruction of civilization ensues, in this dramatic and absorbing saga of heroes, villains, love, and hatred. Midwest Book Review
Brace yourself! This thrill ride will leave the reader exhausted and crying for more in the same breath! Geralyn Beauchamp has penned the first book of what is surely to become a classic. Yellow30 Sci-Fi Reviews
Get ready for one wild ride! The year is 3698 and an unknown instigator has the threat of civil war not only brewing, but near boiling! Pressured by the rulers of the Known Lands, Kwaku Awahnee, Time Master of Muirara, must pass his Time Mastership to his pre-chosen successor, Dallan MacDonald, much earlier than expected. Undaunted, Kwaku enlists the help of Councilor John Eaton who must tell the unsuspecting Scot of his new office and all it entails. There are, however, a few slight problems. To become a Time Master, the Highlander has to willingly join with a Muiraran Maiden, who, stolen as an infant, hidden in another time, and now grown, must mate or die. Dallan's job of convincing her that she is Muiraran, not human, and persuading her to fall in love with him is a small task compared to their impossible race against time. John's job is to make sure the Scot is ready to listen. And then, of course, talk him into it along the way.
Shona Whittard had a lot. Everything she could possibly ask for, some would say. Except for the freedom to run her own life and make her own decisions. She had so many people telling her how envious they were of her singing talent. But if all her competitors and fellow musicians only knew that her tutor Julia and mother ran the show handling everything from the time she got up until the time she went to bed, they might not be so envious. Or would they? She supposed she didn't know or care anymore. What Shona did know was, she was tired of her life. Other girls her age were all in their second year of college while she was still under her mother's and Julia's educational thumbs. Other girls went to parties. Shona was stuck at home watching Masterpiece Theater or studying some sort of cultural etiquette that Julia insisted she learn. She spoke 'proper' English. Something others teased her about. And she was well tutored by Julia as to what was acceptable for a young lady to do or say in not only the twentieth century, but the fifteenth through nineteenth centuries as well. Other girls dated. Shona, not really interested in the opposite sex at the moment anyway, was still jealous of the freedom of choice normal girls had.
Shona was just going to have to face facts. It was, after all, the logical thing to do. She wasn't some astounding musical sensation to be envied. She was a freak.
But all that was about to change ...

Time Masters Book One: The Call Original Print Version, available in hardcover for a limited time. (2007)
What are people saying about Time Masters?
The word "virtue" used to mean power and manliness. A second strong association was purity. But modern usage tends to mock the latter as weakness, not strength. This book reverses the semantic drift of virtue and shows not only that purity takes strength, but that it also leads to great power. Enjoy it!
Brian Simmons, Pastor, age 43
A tour de force in character expression and exploration; chock full of depth and intelligent interplay between characters in the storyline. It's the explosive first book of an exciting series that is not to be missed.
Jason Haskins, age 18
This is a great book. An emotional roller coaster, it took me from tears to laughter and back again with everything in between. I found the story captivating. The author's skill in accurately setting the story in different times of the past, future, and present, created a familiarity that allowed me to identify with the experiences and situations of the characters. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an exciting science fiction/fantasy novel.
Robert Meeks., age 62
Time Masters is one of the most amazing and mind-capturing novels I have ever read. I did not seem to have the will to put it down. I was unable to part myself from the strange magical world that had captured my imagination. Any one who picks up this book will find themselves anticipating every moment.
Jessica Wiseman., age 17

A Relationship and Wellness coach, Geralyn Beauchamp has been coaching writing for the last three and a half years. "So many of my clients begin to get healthy and fit, and suddenly in the journey, discover they have a book inside of them!" Geralyn says. A book reviewer for five years, Geralyn learned what it took to make a good read. She has edited for fellow authors, as well as written for the screen. 'Time Masters, Book One: The Call' is her first novel in the Time Master series. Ok, so that's the formal spiel .... now the personal juicy stuff!
I went to college as an opera major with a flute minor. Hey, it was artistic even if it wasn't writing though I've written for fun all of my life. My dad is a retired homicide detective so you can imagine what it was like growing up! Our mother died when I was 19. My little sister is a professional race horse jockey, my big brother a fire chief and my older sister has one of the meanest green thumbs I've ever seen. That woman can grow anything! Gads, I'd probably manage to kill a Chia Pet! I have three kids, Troy age 32, Kyle age 26 and Hannah age 22.

The e-book of Time Masters Book One; The Call is revised from the print version I must mention, (the beauty of e-books) and is not as long as the original. All those changes you think to make to create a better story AFTER it hits the shelves! Well, they're in there now!
The print version of Time Masters was an Indie Excellence Book Award Finalist for Best New Fiction!

May 2013 - TRAIL MIX, Enjoy!
As we traverse the Narrow Path, we often like to refer to ourselves as Christians, born-again believers, Baptist, Catholics, Methodists, non-denominational, Assemblies of God, Charismatic, spirit-filled, or simply believers in God [if I omitted your particular denomination, I am sorry, I only have so much room to write].
However, if I am interpreting Jesus correctly in John 20:21-23 (RSV), where Jesus said, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so, I send you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit" he was deputizing* each of us to go forth into the world and be his proxies with the full spiritual power of authority of heaven to do his work, in His name, to a lost and hungry world.
This is an amazing directive, and it places upon the shoulders of all believers the spiritual mantle of authority to carry things out, here on earth, in His name for His glory.
Think about this....when you say, I am calling the local Sheriff's Department to report a crime, who shows up? The elected Sheriff himself, or a sworn deputy? The elected official is not going to be available for a large area of people, so that official deputizes as many men and women as needed to represent them and do the work of enforcing the law of that particular county. Try telling the deputy that stops you for breaking a traffic law, or when they have a warrant for your arrest that you will only surrender to, or accept the ticket from the "Man" himself?
You will be in handcuffs before you finish your statement, and the sad thing is, you may never see the Sheriff himself, because the deputy was sworn to uphold the laws and do the work of that person, giving them full power to act in the Sheriff's name, no matter what the circumstances may be.
That brings me to this month's Trail Mix. Jesus told you and I, that while we sojourn this Narrow Path, we are to traverse it as if he were himself traveling across it. Meaning that you and I have ALL His power to do his bidding to enforce his divine will in His stead. And that bidding is accomplished through prayer. Prayer is the main job of the church. And in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLV), Paul reminds the church that they are to," Be full of joy all the time. Never stop praying. In everything give thanks. This is what God wants you to do because of Christ Jesus."
And we are being entrusted with this ultimate power of prayer because as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:3 (NLV), in heaven, God will trust us to take charge over, and judge the angels [who, by the way, have no need to pray, because prayer is a gift given only to mankind]. I consider the fact that we are deputized t do the bidding of the church while here on earth, to be a form of on-the-job-training!" We are learning with each step we take on the Narrow Path, so why are you standing around complaining or wringing our hands over the difficulties that beset you?
Do you not realize that he promised to not only be with you on the path, but as He said, we have the very presence of His spirit within us while he is in heaven building and preparing our condominiums? Child of God, you were deputized for a reason, and that was to grow in your authority to take full control over these things you come personally with along the path, in Jesus's name. And by taking full control in His name, we are enforcing the heavenly principles here on earth, as they are in heaven [like in the Lord's prayer - pray: that our Father in Heaven shall permit his will do be done here on earth as it is done in heaven]!
Does this mean that we can have anything our heart desires? No! However, it does mean that we will always have what is allowable within his perfect, and sometimes permissible will, for our life and the life of those we pray for! Now, that is one awesome truth and a promise for the ages! Selah!!!
Shalom,
Pastor Paul
