I'm still pretty much a closet punk except today I'm listening to Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Hawk Nelson, Family Force 5, and Relient K instead of the early 80's drug scene music I used to listen to. (I skipped the drug scene-- I promise. I just liked a lot of that music-- Siouxsie and the Banshees, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Smiths, REM (before they went mainstream,) the Pistols and P.I.L, The Cure, stuff like that-- when I was young. Oh, and for the record, a lot of it was old music when I was listening to it, too...)
I love good music really whether its Christian or just thought-provoking or inovative. I'm really into 30 Seconds to Mars, hellogoodbye, Gym Class Heroes, and My Chemical Romance right now. My long-time favs include Third Day, Paul Wright, KJ-52, and Plumb.

Ah, books... how much time do you have?
I love books.
Period.
Unless they are totally preachy with completely unrealistic characters, then I can't stomach them. I'm far from perfect, and I want to see in my fiction that others are, too.
(Promise not to throw me from your friends' list if I say that I can't read Tolkein.)
Give me Rachel Cohen, Chris Crutcher, Judy Blume, Robert Cormier or Susan Cooper any day, and I'm a happy girl.

ON TOUR #3: The Secret (2004)
Fifteen year old Parker Blevins is leading his band, Second Rate, to bigger gigs and onto the radio waves. But as the band's exposure grows, it also draws controversy. The Christian rock band is booked to play at the community block party and a leading atheist in town, who is also a popular DJ on the local radio station, makes it his mission to stop them.
For Parker, the controversy goes much deeper. For him, it isn't just a local DJ trying to stop Second Rate; it is much closer to home. Literally.
