General Interests
As a writer, I of course love to read. Everything! I'm a fan of Brandilyn Collins, Deborah Raney,Dee Henderson, Lori Wick, Carol Higgins Clark,Terri Blackstock and so many more. It's tough to start naming authors, because you'll leave so many out! The #1 in my life, besides Jesus Christ, is my blessed and wonderful husband. We have two college age kids (when did THAT happen?!)
Besides spending time with my husband, I enjoy cross-stitching, ceramic painting, reading, traveling, and watching movies. I'm also a huge tennis fan, watching every tournament I can! This is the one thing that will interfere with my writing day -- oops! :)
Music
I love music. Always have to have it on in the background. I'm an old rocker chick at heart: Bon Jovi, Journey, Jimmy Buffet, Chicago, oh just go listen to 80's classic rock and I'm there! I also really like Third Day and Casting Crowns. I listen to a completely different type of music while I'm working -- piano music, soundtracks (Pride & Prejudice and The Holiday are favorites.) Nothing with words to distract me while I'm creating words.
Books
Look at the authors listed above and you'll get an idea! Too numerous to count. I read everything from suspense to romance.
Movies/TV
I used to work in radio and television and I guess it never leaves your system. I love movies, and can watch most of them over and over again. My current fave is "The Holiday." But there are so many other movies: Under the Tuscan Sun, Sense & Sensibility, The Shawshank Redemption, The Big Chill, Shall We Dance, The Way We Were, National Treasure, Independence Day -- well, my DVD collection is pretty big! And of course, almost anything from Alfred Hitchcock!

Birthday Reflections in a New Home   7/21/2008 - 1:42 PM
My birthday was two days ago, and yes, having birthdays, especially at my age, leads to a reflection of your life. But this year, I was reflecting in a different way. My husband threw me a birthday party this year! How fun! We had 30 people at o... (login or sign up to read more)

Empty House-Empty Nest   8/25/2007 - 6:26 PM
Why does the house feel emptier now that she's gone? She was rarely home anyway, especially during the last year. Between her job, her friends and her boyfriend, she was busily enjoying her own world. Now that she's off to college, the emptiness ... (login or sign up to read more)

Letting Go....   8/17/2007 - 3:33 PM
Well, we did it. We moved our daughter into her dorm room at college, and said good-bye. She was heading off to the freshman camp for the weekend, which I think is a great way to meet new friends. I know she's going to be fine. She'll do great in ... (login or sign up to read more)

Time Passing   5/23/2007 - 3:14 PM
We, at times, lament the passing of time. We desperately want to cling to the good times of right now, or look longingly to the past, to the comfortable days of yesterday. The passing of time is clearly evident these days. It's graduation time. An... (login or sign up to read more)
