Just me at the moment.
Influences:
I have been influenced by many people over the years. My earliest and probably greatest influence would be Paul Simon. In the Christian music scene my lyrics have been influenced by Paul Field and Michael Card amongst others. Musically I continue to be inspired daily by an awesome and merciful God. So who knows what will appear next.
Sounds Like:
I've been told I sound a bit like Michael Card & Dave Bilbrough.

About Steve Lowndes
Just an ordinary kid from an ordinary background, who's still ordinary! Many people hide from their feelings because of everyday pressures and perceptions. Whatever the reason pride, insecurity or stubbornness, we sometimes are afraid or ashamed to ask questions about our existence or how God affects our lives.

The songs Steve writes ask these questions in discovery or rejoicing, frustration or confusion. They speak about a real world, not a fanciful idealist world. In time, perfection will come, but until then we need to make sense of our world.

Steve says, "I have been blessed many times during my song writing. I only pray that you will be equally blessed, challenged and uplifted by them. I don't pretend to know all the answers, but I do often ask the questions that we sometimes choose to ignore. Some of my songs appear from nowhere. Sometimes they are the result of fervent bible study, but all are built upon the rock Christ Jesus. God is a gracious God and continually inspires me to write more songs."

Shameless plug I know, but you don't get anything if you don't try After a long period of no activity I seem to have been thrust into the frontline again much to my delight. Saturday 19th April 2008 is my next 'gig' at Manna Coffee, in Hull. Man... (login or sign up to read more)

Willoughby acoustic gig report   3/02/2008 - 2:38 PM
It's great to be back. I've been gigging again. I was invited by Nigel to perform for a small village parish church in Willoughby, nr Alford, Lincs. That gig was last night and really gave me confidence to perform again. Once more Nigel joined me... (login or sign up to read more)

Going Live Again   12/02/2007 - 3:26 PM
It's been quite a while since I last did a live gig. May 2006 to be exact. That was when I went to Chicago to sing at Sanctuary AG church Batavia, IL. It was a difficult time with the knowledge that my sister-in-law was in the final stages of her can... (login or sign up to read more)
