Lyle Tribe has been playing drums for 40 years, performing virtually all commercial music styles; old-time, blues, rock, heavy metal, country, reggae, swing, jazz, hip-hop, even punk, jug band & classical.
In the year 2000, after more than 25 years of full-time professional playing, The Lord moved Lyle's talents into education; where for the past 5 years he has been touring schools in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan with his Rhythm 101 Drum-Set Performance & Rhythm 101 Percussion Workshops.
Lyle has also been moved to leading Praise & Worship with drums and percussion; which he has presented at Christian Churches and festivals for the last 2 years.
Although the drums have been a major focus in Lyle's life he has also written may songs and stories which are now, after much prompting from friends and family, in the process of being recorded. They will be posted here as they are completed. For now, there is a drum solo track recorded from the Main stage at Billy Barker Days in Quesnel, B.C. It had to be split it into 3 parts to upload. Then..... there's the story of Meglebumb.
Meglebumb was written by Lyle in 1976. He has told this story to literally thousands of people over the years. From living-rooms & campfires to bars & cabarets to cruiseships, concerts & festivals Meglebumb has endured. Plans are in progress to actually create one along with an illustrated storybook and CD. If you have actually heard of this little critter before, please!!..let us know.
Originally from Abbotsford, B.C., Lyle now resides in Quesnel, B.C.
