I guess my works are in the vein of Dean Koontz/John Saul but on the more suspenseful-weird side versus the horror they often write. I love having a suspenseful core with various threads woven around it, whatever tugs at me when I'm writing, romance, action, mystery, spirituality and some kind of weirdness.

My novel, Kings & Queens, is basically like Veronica Mars with mass murder and baseball.

Courtney Vail's creativity and thirst for adventure compelled her to branch out from frolicking, practical joking, barely-acting, kid chasing, dragon slaying, exercising, sporty event planning, graphic designing, and white water rafting into the precarious world of novel writing. Strong writing can elicit chuckles, tears or even change a life, and she finds such power of pen invigorating. She blends suspense, mystery, romance, action, sports, family drama, spirituality and some weirdness to give her works broad-spectrum appeal.
The freakish author, writing under a pseudonym, holds a degree in Journalism Advertising. She worked in event planning and advertising for several years, but now what attention is not placed on God and her family is a toss up between sports enthusiasm and writing novels. She currently resides in New England with her husband, Allen, and three freakish kids.
She believes every person should find at least one thing to be passionate about and seize that dream, live it to the fullest. Though her creative juices push her in many artistic directions, she finds the greatest fulfillment in writing novels. She also enjoys cooking & entertaining, painting, outdoorsy thrills, amusement park rides and going to the theater.

Yep. I figured it would come to this. I finally had to dish out some tough love on myself. My sports addiction has completely trounced and sacked my motivation to write. My slide into a drought occurred over the span of several months. Last fall, aft...

If you need a break from novel writing or want to challenge your poetic skills, dip your plume in ink and try your hand at a rigid form of poetry like a villanelle. The villanelle consists of 19 lines: 5 tercets [3 lines] and 1 quatrain [4 lines]. Th...
