About Ashleigh Kittle Slater
I'm the editor of the webzine, Ungrind. It's aimed at encouraging 20- and 30-something Christian women in their daily lives.

I've been a freelance writer for over a dozen years. My writing has been published in the books Chicken Soup for the Teenage Christian Soul, All Music Guide to Hip-Hop: The Definitive Guide to Rap and Hip-Hop, and All Music Guide to Soul: The Definitive Guide to R&B and Soul, as well as the periodicals Radiant, Brio, Brio & Beyond, Guideposts' Angels on Earth magazine, Focus on the Family magazine, Campus Life, Focus on Your Child, YOU!, The Magazine for Christian Youth, The Message, Youth '97, Youth '98, Release, and Sunday/Monday Woman.

For five years (1995-2000), I was a media critic for LinC (Living In Christ): Youth Connecting Faith and Culture. I also wrote music reviews and artist bios for All Music Guide for two years (2001-2003). My work from All Music Guide appears on websites including MSN Shopping, Amazon, Artist Direct, BMG Music, Barnes and Noble, Yahoo! Music, AOL Music Now, and VH1.com.

In 2004 I earned my master's degree in Communication from Regent University. My husband Ted and I have been married for almost five years and have two daughters.

Quoted on Popular Blog   1/21/2008 - 1:33 PM
Even though I've been writing for over a decade, it's still a strange feeling to learn that something I've written has been quoted. Probably because I tend to think of myself as a stay-at-home mom more than a freelance writer. And not many people are... (login or sign up to read more)

I'm the mommy of two little girls. Sometimes it's a struggle for me to figure out how to balance both hats -- that of a mommy and a writer. Any tips for me? (login or sign up to read more)
