Where do I start? I'm an avid reader and enjoy most clean fiction I get my hands on. If you see me at the library, I'm probably either in the mystery or Sci-Fi/fantasy section, though I like a good, sappy Christian romance every now and again. My absolute favorites? The Chronicles of Narnia, hands down my all-time favorite. (Hate the movies: I keep thinking "That wasn't in the book!" Then again, I've only read the entire series 7 or 8 times.) I also love Donita K. Paul's Dragon Keeper series, Sherlock Holmes, Louisa May Alcott's works, the Little House series, and L. M. Montgomery.

TV? What's that? No, I don't keep up with any shows in particular. But, if I happen to be flipping through the channels and see one of these, I might stop and watch: M*A*S*H, Good Eats, Dinner Impossible, Mythbusters, Ace of Cakes, Monk, Doctor Who, Star Trek TOS, Iron Chef, Gardening by the Yard, Dirty Jobs, or Deadliest Catch.
As for movies, I'm into older ones, especially comedies. Give me Danny Kay, Audrey Hepburn, or a Bob Hope/Bing Crosby "Road To" any old day. I also love the Marx Brothers, Gene Kelly, and Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. The most recent movies in my collection are The Princess Bride, Secondhand Lions, and Runaway Bride. I like most Pixar movies and most of the old Disney movies, too.

I'm a brand new RN who just started my first nursing job! I have a passion for working with kids and eventually want to become a Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner in order to serve those who might not have access to health care. I'm a very creative person who loves to paint, craft, and write. One of these days, I'll get myself published and you'll see me over in the writer's section :)

Today, I was reminded that NaNoWriMo is only 6 weeks away. All I could think was "Wow. Already?" The plot's been literally itching my brain since I finished last year's novel in July. Yes, I know. I was supposed to finish last year's novel in Novembe...

OK, so I let it sit a while since December. November was long over, but Christmas was coming up. I had stuff to do and a major case of writer's block. How in the world was I going to wrap up the story? It was all so anti-climatic, both in the storyli...

Is it possible that something you've been taught your whole life is wrong?
Isaiah 64:6 in the NIV says, "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wi...

I was reading in my Bible today about John the Baptist. The people he preached to were very impressed with him. They thought maybe he was the promised Messiah. He told them nope, I'm not Him, but He's coming very soon.
"Well then, are you the Elija...

Yay! I won! I got over 50k words, and counting! Well, my story's not actually finished, just yet, but I do plan on finishing it, and soon. I'm going to keep on going at this break-neck pace until the story is done. Right now, it looks like it may win...

WRITING CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT:
It is my pleasure to announce this years thanksgiving competition for the fall!!!! The Prize is for first place and it is..... any TWO novels of your choice, selected by you, paid for by me! The story has to be about YOUR own experiences of thanksgiving It will be judged on the following things:
1. What is thanksgiving to you and why? Do you love it or hate it? Is it just an ordinary holiday? Explain using your storytelling skills. You may use 1st person, 2nd person, or 3rd person viewpoints; but PICK one.
2. Your family tradition for thanksgiving, anything that might make your story unique from the others. That 'spark of emotion noticeable by the words written on the page.
3. Grammer and spell check. Indented paragraphs, that sort of thing.
4. THE NUMBER OF PAGES IN A SHORT-STORY DON'T MATTER. Just make sure it's long enough to make your point or tell the whole story.
BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE! If you want to join in just send me a shoutmail and post it here when it's ready!
