MindFlights Issue 1 (2008)
My short story, "Quite the Character," is in the print edition of MindFlights, Issue 1.
Here's a bit about the story:
Writing is a great job -- you can stay in your pajamas all day and play with your imaginary friends. When science fiction author Robert J. Hawke (Bobby) takes his laptop to the local Starbucks, he's not prepared to meet an impossibly familiar man who claims to be his novel's hero, Jett Travers.
How could Travers know about Bobby, let alone step out of a manuscript draft to ask for help? And what trouble could he be in without Bobby's knowledge? When Travers reveals that a minor character is hijacking the plot, Bobby is sorely tempted to let her finish the novel with a bang.

I'm a Canadian writer whose passion is fiction (Christian women's suspense). My unpublished novel, Praying for the Enemy, was short-listed for the Best New Canadian Christian Author Award in 2008. All six finalists were declared publishable, but alas for five of us, only one could be chosen. So here I am, back in the hunt for a publisher. It's been a long road.
My published work includes over 80 articles, reviews and stories printed. I'm a member of The Word Guild, InScribe Christian Writers' Fellowship, and American Christian Fiction Writers, as well as Acquisitions Editor for InScribe's FellowScript newsletter. And I try to keep my bookshelf updated at Shelfari.
I'm also a wife, mom, daughter, friend, neighbour -- a Christian growing in faith, trying to balance relationships and responsibilities. Can you relate?

Wednesdays are devotional posts, Sundays are book reviews, and there's still a monthly draw for a Canadian-authored book, all at my blog, God With Us: Finding Joy.
I've stopped cross-posting here to save my brain cells (having to re-learn simple ...

"Who among you fears the LORD
and obeys the word of his servant?
Let him who walks in the dark,
who has no light,
trust in the name of the LORD
and rely on his God."

The past few weeks have weighed a bit heavily on me. Pra...
