I am a married mother of 2 beautiful children Noah 7, and Kayla 4. I am a stay -at- home mom right now while I continue to care for our 2 special needs children that we have been blessed with. Last year I did have the opportunity to home-school my son while he was being evaluated throughout the school year. Home-schooling Noah was the best thing that I ever did because that was when God gave me the chance to find out that my gift was teaching & helping others.
In my free time I like to read, research on the internet, and I'm involved w/ our church. I also enjoy and love listening to Contemporary Christian music. My husband Bryant is a local truck driver/ trainer, and works lots of hours during the week. We are members of Maplewood Christian Church. Noah was actually just Baptized this past August. He went up on his own and gave his life to the Lord the day after his 7th birthday.
I always did believe in God, but now that I look back just a few years, and I was never close to him like I am now. I was born and raised a Catholic, so I was Baptized when I was 6 weeks old. Right after my daughter was born my grandmother saw her when she was 7 days old, and then just passed away unexpectedly when she was 11 days old. That was the turning point in my life. I ended up with terrible postpartum depression. In May of that year 2005, (I specifically remember this) we received a flyer in the mail from Maplewood Christian Church w/ the Pastor Bill Thomas' picture on it. I told my husband we needed to go check out the church sometime. I have always had a hard time going into new churches when they are small. That is one fear that I have. Well in Aug. of 2005 we got there. At the end of the year my husband Bryant and I started taking the membership classes. My Catholic Baptism was not accepted in a non-denominational church for a membership. Well that was another fear that I had was to be dunked under the water in front of a lot of people. I was actually blessed on that day. I gave my life to Lord, and was Baptized on my daughter's 1st birthday on 01-15-06. From that day on I have had my life totally change for the good. God has been w/ me everyday since in good times and in bad. I have been through some situations I never would have been able to make the decisions on my own, and he was right there to guide me w/ the answer. When I am in the car the radio station is always on my favorite Christian station, it never changes! Or I have my favorite Contemporary Christian Cd's.My 2 children even know the music and sing it (even the 4 yr old)! All 4 of us have are health issues going on here in the house, and Bryant works 60-65 hrs a week. I am the one that has to take care of everyone, and make sure all of the appts. and the meds. are all in order. It is a very exhausting job! God is the only one that is keeping me going. I know that God would not have given me more than what I could handle. No matter how I feel everyday I keep going, and do what I have to do everyday. My main health issue is migraines, so I push myself, and take care of my 2 kiddos w/ chronic pain some of the time. I also just found out this fall that I have a Immunodeficiency where the antibodies in my immune system do not work properly. That means I am at risk all of the time for infection, and it takes my body longer to fight infections off. These 2 diseases are hard to live with, and take care of a family. I am a very strong-willed person though, and I fight until the end, and I do not stop until the job is complete. That is probably why God handed me this family to care for. In Dec. 2009 was just blessed with starting to work from home. I have always wanted to do that. I hope that by reading my testimony it helps someone in need out there, and proves to them that God works in your life when you have faith. God Bless! -Michelle

What is true intimacy? Has true intimacy been lost in our culture? In Genesis 2:24,God portrays intimacy between a man and a woman this way, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh."How beautiful those words are! This is God's design for true intimacy between a man and a woman. It is a spiritual act as opposed to being merely a physical one. This design is God's intention for His creation. The fruit of this most pleasurable shared act of beauty is a most cherished child. A tiny, little baby created in God's image through love. How sad it is as the centuries pass that the selfless act of lovemaking has often degenerated into an empty, unfulfilling, wanton act of self-indulgence, lacking the warmth and tenderness it was meant to hold. the fruit of this tragedy is heartbreak, lonliness, self-hatred, disease, abortion, the list is endless. So often what God designs and intends for our joy and benefit is removed from its original context and is twisted and perverted by the selfish, insatiable desire of man. The physical and spiritual joining of a husband and wife is also the shadow of another spiritual act. It is the reflection of true intimacy between Christ and the believer, the bride and the Bridegroom. It is the joining of the created to the Creator in a spiritual oneness that far exceeds the intimacy shared even by a husband and wife. This unity has been God's intention from the very start. Over the centuries, man has moved further and further away from true intimacy with God. Counterfeit intimacies have metastasized in its place. As a result we are left with a sense of incompletion, a lack of wholeness, we are left feeling like objects instead of highly valued persons. The true intimacy between Christ and His believers, His collective bride, is portrayed among other places throughout Song of Solomon in The Old Testament. S.O.S.Ch.1:15 says, "Behold, you are fair my love! Behold, you are fair! You have doves eyes." Ch.2:6-"His left hand is under my head and His right hand embraces me." Ch.4:9-"You have ravished my heart, my spouse, you have ravished my heart." Ch.6:3-"I am my Beloved's and my Beloved is mine." Ch.6:5-"turn your eyes away from me for they have overcome me." These are just a few of the beautiful illustrations of the true intimacy that Christ desires for Himself and each individual believer. Nothing is done for selfish pleasure, and Christ, the lover of our soul never leaves and forgets to call us the next day. His heart stays with us. Ours stays with Him. This is what we were born and born again for. This is true intimacy with God. It is our spiritual destiny. It is for you, for now, for today and for eternity. Jesus is calling you this very moment to spiritual intimacy with Himself. You don't need to learn anything. He will show you. He is gentle and humble in heart, and in Him we find rest for our souls. He is calling. Go to Him and know true intimacy forever.
