1 Cor 12:27-28
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

There comes a time in our walks with the Lord, that we just stop for a moment and realize just how complex He truly is, and yet, can move upon each one of us and bring about the fulfillment of His promise in our lives. How does He do this?
By placing things upon our hearts to share with others. By using each and everyone of us in a way that boggles the human mind.

There IS a reason why He gave us these scriptures above! Because He uses us ALL to get His message out there! There are many functions in the body of Christ.
He uses us all according to our availability. According to our obedience and willingness to obey Him.

We never know when He is going to do something that rocks our world, and makes our mouths hang open in awe of His majesty and Glory! He surely did this for me and continues to do so.
I walked into a store a month or so back, but the story doesn't start there, it starts long before this.
God was laying the groundwork in the relationship, and then one day I walked into the store.
On the shelves was a book. The book was a fiction novel, and I normally stay clear of all fiction,
I only buy books that other preachers, leaders, ministries put out to learn from, however this one stood out. It was like a beacon. I got such a witness to purchase it. I am not just talking about a inner silent witness, I mean an OUTWARD witness, it was hard to hold back the tears and exclamation that was coming from deep within me. So I bought it and took it home and began to read. I could not put the book down. I was done reading it in record time. Front to back. WOW!

I wrote to someone and shared what I found in the book, and how it touched my heart. What I didn't know was what was really going on behind the scenes at home, and it was a witness to that person that they had been hearing correctly. Not only that, but it gave an incredible witness to another person as well that heard what the Lord had written that day through me.

It also confirmed to them that I was placed in their lives as a witness, and a spiritual guide, and teacher, and friend. God had already chosen me, long before I or the person I was talking to knew it. Since then its been a awesome adventure of discovery as He continues to confirm His word through us both at every turn. I know that the Lord has blessed me with an incredible friendship that will span the boundaries of time.

I have watched as God has been systematically bringing everything into alignment with His Word, Scriptures, heart to heart discussions, and Bible study, and its a mystery, complex and yet so simple, as He reveals each step. It might be a word, a passage out of a book, a situation that happened at home or somewhere else, and as we share each step with one another our faith increases!

It all started with obedience! And an open heart to receive. God cannot use the ones that are close minded. But when you are available to His will, HE will shine through your lives like a beacon of light! He is doing that in this situation, and so much more! It would boggle your mind the scriptures, the things happening that are NOT coincidence, and situations happening that point to the narrow road, and that both are on the right road. But there is so much MORE!

By being obedient to Gods will in your life, you will see how He reveals things one step a at time. He will use people you don't expect. He will change your perspectives, change your viewpoints, and He will use you mightily if you will let Him.

I know many years ago, the Lord spoke to me through a Prophetic word, He said,
"God chooses the foolish things of the world, to confound the wise" now that is not the FULL scripture, but He is saying, even though we don't feel we are equipped, or who others would place in a position of leadership or guiding someone else, GOD HIMSELF has chosen us. SO we need to just go with what GOD has to say about us and do what HE wills and watch as your life unfolds like a beautiful flower and the fragrance of it all will reach the nostrils of God, and He will be well pleased!

Don't ever think you cannot be used because of what others have said to you or how you feel you look in the mirror! Or even your past. God will chose those who have a heart to serve Him, and who are available to Him. He sees our hearts. Just like JESUS did, when He chose the 12 Apostles. He saw their hearts.

We need to be aware that we are not islands unto ourselves. Our functions, and gifts are not just for ourselves to enjoy, but to share with the body of Christ I am watching this first hand as God reveals His will and plan and its filling me with awe!

The Gifts of the Spirit are in operation today. Don't let anyone tell you different. Those that close themselves off to the gifts, are really shooting themselves in the foot. And missing out on so much! God wants to show you things, and take you further in Him. But without obedience, and willingness to be open to His leading, it cannot happen. Don't let others dictate to you how to serve the Lord. He will do things you wont expect. He will surprise you. And its all for His glory and purpose. The God I serve is not stuffy, He HAS a sense of humor!

Let the Lord lead you today!
Let today be a brand new day of discovery in Him! You WONT be disappointed.
