In recent years, Chris Spencer has devoted himself to Christian music, and he is now pursuing a music ministry degree at Concordia University in Austin. He became involved in the worship band at the King of Glory Church in Austin, mentoring under Nic Gonzales, leader of Salvador (Warner Bros. recording artists and Dove Award winners). In time, Chris was asked to lead the worship team at the church, which included Art Gonzales, drummer and co-founder of Salvador. Later, Chris served as the worship leader at New Life Baptist Church.

Chris is currently involved in several Christian music projects:
- an original electric trio, focused on Christian alternative rock & pop
- leading contemporary worship at various churches, campuses, & youth events
- original solo acoustic material, in a singer-songwriter style akin to Dashboard Confessional and John Mayer

Chris was born in Boston, MA and was raised in Austin, TX in a musical family. His dad is a former touring jazz guitarist, and his mom is an accomplished vocalist. Chris started singing and playing guitar in high school and within a couple of years he was leading his own band and booking gigs in clubs all over the Austin, TX area. As word of Chris's talent spread, he became a sideman in various bands, including R&B artist Joe Valentine (formerly of the James Brown Revue and Joe Tex Band), Austin jam band favorites, Larry, and Groovin' Ground, with whom he toured Texas, New Mexico and Colorado.
