Back in 2000 a friend of mine and I had a conversation about how several of the artists and most of the music we played in Christian Music Radio back in the 80's and 90's had been retired and long forgotten about. We talked about creating a radio program that would feature these songs and artists but as happens often with great ideas, "real life" took the forefront and CCMRewind was retired to a someday project.
In mid December of 2009 I went to the basement to gather a few decorations for the house. I moved a few boxes that were pretty heavy and when I opened one up to see what was in it I saw a couple CD's that I hadn't played for many years. I took the CD's upstairs (before the decorations) to my office and dropped them in my CD changer. Before I knew it I was taken back to a time in my life and faith when things were a lot more simple for me.
The distance between now and then isn't just in decades, days, hours or minutes. The distance is in relationships forged and lost, things said and unsaid as well as in the things I KNEW to be true then and the things I HOPE for now.
When I put all this together I thought that maybe some of you were a little bit like me and could use a minute or two to go back too.
