I was born in conservative Islamic north of Nigeria, where, contrary to usual expectations but with a Christian upbringing, my talent for playing musical instruments, blossomed. The guitar has become my signature, although I have established my own style and nitch as a multi-talented instrumentalist and arranger.
Between 1993 and 1994, I played with different bands, following which I played with House On The Rock Musical Ministries, led by Pastor Paul Adefarasin.
With the release of "Dream Dawn," my name was registered as the first Nigerian artist to produce a contemporary jazz album. Recognition followed. In 2000, I was nominated for the highly-rated Nigeria Musical Award, where I won the BEST CONTEMPORARY JAZZ ALBUM OF THE YEAR AWARD. Shortly after, I started my own band, called the "Motivation Band."
Since coming to the United States, I have performed alongside Ron Kenoly, Yolanda Adams, Kenoly Brothers, and Bob James, among others, and appeared at various times on TBN.
Today, I am a songwriter, composer and producer. I have produced for Nigerian and American artistes and have released two solo albums - Dream Dawn and Glory. My major release - Never Let Go - is scheduled for release in the summer of 2009.
I thank God for giving me the opportunity to use my instruments to praise Him.
